Fall Maintenance with HomeAdvisor

Being a homeowner is one the things that many Americans dream of. Thankfully, this past May, we were able to cross that dream off our list. I love being a homeowner and walking into our house knowing how hard we worked to achieve that goal. Being a homeowner is truly awesome, but what's not so awesome is the maintenance and upkeep on a home. But, as long as you are able to stay on top of it, it doesn't have to be so stressful.

With summer now gone and Fall officially here, we wanted to start looking into how to prepare our home for the change in temperatures. Especially, since Winter is right around the corner.

When HomeAdvisor contacted me and asked us to complete a Fall Maintenance task using their website, I was all for it. HomeAdvisor is a easy-to-use site with their customers in mind. 

Here's how it works: you go to their site, look up what service you need for your home, and they supply you with local companies you can work with, who then contact you to give you a quote and a day to schedule the appointment. That's it! I was very happy with the service and how fast the company that we chose followed up with us! They had a lot of great reviews on HomeAdvisor so I felt comfortable going with them.

Since we pay HOA fees that cover outside maintenance, it made sense for us to have our furnace serviced by a local professional. When researching how much it would cost around, we used HomeAdvisor's Cost Guide to get an idea of what we should expect. It was very simple, I entered in my state and it showed us that the average price was $347.
